A debut album of the pianist and singer Alina Spiridonova consists of her own compositions, each one revealing her roots coming from the Caucasus region and northwestern Russia. Blending Caucasus and Russian folklore with jazz harmonies and classical music influences from the Impressionist era, she attempts to create her own vision of her land. She reflects on it, recreates childhood memories, feels a sense of melancholy... or anger and bitterness, or serene joy. The album lets us move into the inner world of the artist and explore the unique sounds of her land.
